What ever happened to using [[flail] on a machine gunner???
If you're going for DPS... you should probably bring an IAS.

Enchants might screw you up but enchant removal will not,
and with conjure you have to wait like 45 sec till you can use it again and on top of that you can control enchants whereas enchant removal you cannot

for sundering and penetrating shot the spammability is morelimited by the recharge than the attack speed, which is already faster than normal at 1 second activation, so id assume all the +dmg buffs would be more useful than ias.

FYI: Timed skills are still sped up by an IAS.

Im getting around 75 DPS with this build
So what do you guys think of it?
|
That 75 is probably just the first ~25-30s, as soon as your prep/weapon spell expires you have to renew it and your DPS drops, an when you hit 0 energy it drops below 50.
The highest DPS PvE R build I know of is :
[flail][Point Blank Shot][Zojun's Shot][Sundering Attack][Penetrating Attack][Favorable winds][Expert Focus] (["I Am The Strongest!"] / [Prepared Shot] )
Close to 100 DPS against single target for 24s and it does not drop much on the long range (renew preparation every 24s and you need to use prepared shot once in a while to maintain energy, other than that do not use PS)
The problem is that it is not easy to stay in half-range even with a flatbow especially when I am "crippled" by flail...hitting flail on recharge (every 4s) is also dumb, + I hate having to drop FW before every single mob fight +no utility skill...so I don't play this build , but 90-100 DPS on ranger is nice.

It doesn't get much better than Conjure/Glass for pure dps. At 14 exp (playing with 16 now just for kicks...) it hits for around 100 dps on squishies and Conjure has the added benefit of being a 1 minute spell... which is huge in clutch situations. Bring needling shot and you're doing some serious damage, although that'll sap your energy like no other.

I'm not on gw currently, but mine ranger for VERY high DPS uses:
Forked arrow
Tripple shot
Glass Arrows
"I am the strongest"
Distracting Shot
Lightning Reflexes
the other 2 slots wary from secondary to secondary
100-150 armor ignoring damage, followed by another 50 and an interrupt? yes please!!

I find Conjure to be the best DPS for a Ranger.
[build prof=R/E name="Conjure DPS" Marks=12+1 Expertise=11+1+1 Air=6 desc="Weapon: Shocking Recurve Bow of Enchanting"][Prepared Shot][Expert Focus][Sundering Attack][Penetrating Attack][Sloth Hunter's Shot][Distracting Shot][Conjure Lightning][Resurrection Signet][/build]
Between Expert Focus and Prepared shot, you're able to spam the attack skills with little to no energy loss. A +15% while enchanted and +20% longer enchantment bow works best. Works great, and is pretty low maintenance so it should work well on heroes too. I've also used this in RA, TA, and AB (drop Res for [Point Blank Shot] or a utility skill like [Throw Dirt]) successfully as well.

, this is the build that I use on my heroes (one or two skills might be different), they use it well and it is a strong build.

I would really consider taking a +30hp mod on your bow and getting 20% enchantments on a staff.
Not to mention conjures can be used without staves; they last long enough.

FYI: i know this already, note that i said sundering and penetrating were more limited, not solely limited, by the recharge. i was suggesting that i think more +dmg would do more to increase his dps than the effect that ias would have on the timed skills.
